The trip started out, we were going on a short walk. then someone said lets climb up to the top. and our short walk ended up a two hour hike up the side of a mountain and a rock climb down, Thank God we made it down safe. We had a great time.

We went to Gilbert AZ. About 10 miles from where we are staying. It happen to be Gilbert Days. We got to see Mutton Bustin for the first time, that was funny, I’m glad my children didn’t want to do that when they were small. The high light of the day was the farmers market the veggies were so fresh and the tomatos was as good as they looked, I will be going there every week for all my vegetables. I go to taste ghost chilies, they are HOT! But good.

Another amazing day, I told Lacy I wanted to ride the bikes today, so where did we ride to? A swap meet, but they had everything I had been looking for. It was a nice little ride.

Today was awesome I got to see my first Roadrunner. Then we went to Rockhound State Park and it was amazing, I wanted to take photos every were I looked, I love the different cactus, This is a place I must come back to. We met some very nice campers they are members of Loners On Wheels.

A Change in Plans

We had a change in plans. We were headed for Williams AZ. So I could go to the Grand Canyon but when we called the campground the man said they had snow and was expecting more on Sunday. So we went to plan B, Head South. And now we are in Deming NM. 30 miles from the border. We are going to rest here of a couple day and continue on west.

We are spending December in Meridian MS. It’s not too cold and the best part is NO snow. We got to see family that we have not seen in years. Found a great bike trail at Bonita Lake that I would not ride a bike on because it’s too hilly and made of press gravel not good for stopping, But the path is great for walking. Life is good !

Our Road Trip Continue in Tunica Ms.

We went to River Park in Tunica today; it’s a very nice place and right on the Mississippi river. I love the nature walk, a 1.9 mile trail in the woods there were lots of deer. I think it was too cold for the snakes; that were a good thing. The weather was great, very sunny at 58 degrees.

Branson has been great, We are heading back to DeSoto Mo. to pick up the RV,The work we had done is complete. The weather forcast is for it to get colder.We wanted to have Thanksgiving in Desoto Mo.with a camper we met but I think it's going to get too cold.

The start of our road trip Adventure

On November 8, 2010 we headed to DeSoto Mo. This is a two day stop over before going to Branson Mo. We dropped off supplies at the RV shop where we are having some work done, had dinner and got some rest. The next day we went to St Francois state park , We met a camper and he was telling us about the nice 3 mile hiking path , we felt we could do it in about 1 ½ hours..we were wrong L, it was a great day, at 12pm we started walking after about 1 ½ hour into the walk we lose the path with all the falling leafs we didn’t know which way to go and didn’t see any markers , so across the field we went, I tripped on a rock and fell , I slipped on a stick and fell, we found the path and went the wrong way on it , I told Lacy we where going the wrong way and I was going back the other way, he came with a lot of doubt , about 3pm we found out way out of the woods and made it back to the car. It was a good hike, but the next time I will have a map and water, We did have the cell phone and Lacy said he was calling 911 at 4pm.

Bike Ride on The Illinois Prairie Path

We started our ride in Bellwood at the Dunkin Donuts, we bought some bananas and use the rest room. The ride was going alone good until we got to Aurora and I heard La Tanya yell, A Bee stung her on the side of her face ( That hurt), Dan got the stinger out and she said it felt better. After lunch we were looking for the Fox River Trail, we started down a trail and Dan said this was not the right way so we turned around and rode up a very very steep hill. We rode around Aurora for about half hour only to find out we were going the right way in the first place. We got to St Charles , the hotel was about a mile and half from the path (Up a hill). The next morning we headed for Elgin, we rode down the hill to get to the path, only to find out that the path continued up the hill so off we went riding up another very steep hill. When we got to Elgin there was a large hill we rode down and when we got to the bottom there was a detour sign, we had two choices one go back up the hill  two take another path and look for a route on the street to find the path, we chose to go through the detour  we had to walk our bikes for a little ways. After going up another large hill and through another detour we found the Elgin branch of the trail, we headed back like homing pigeons. We rode 82 miles in 2 days.

The day started out with Rain, lighting and thunder. The weather report said it was going to clear up, so off to the bike path we went. The path was wet and that made it a little harder to ride and the mud was flying all over us. I was thinking what have I gotten myself into. This is how our ride went # 1. La Tanya’s chain came off and I had to ride to catch Dan for help ( Lots of energy used) # 2. I forgot to put my glasses on after lunch and they went flying off my hat, we spent about 15 min. looking for them and just as we gave up La Tanya seen them in the street ( It was amazing a car or truck didn't run over then) # 3. La Tanya and I got Lost :) we took the wrong path, A nice man on the path got his map out and told us how to get back ( Dan was calling looking for us) #4. A little girl was riding all over the path and I was watching her and hit La Tanay's back wheel and I went flying into the bushes. We rode 52 miles. A little sore and bruised we had a great time. I can't wait until the next ride.

Bike Ride With #2 Son

I went for a bike ride on Old Plank Road Trail with my number two son. The ride round trip was 37 miles. On the ride back the tempature dropped and it got very cold, next time I will take extra clothing. It was a awesome ride, I love getting out in nature. I was suprised to see that the trail is a miles longer.

While driving on the grounds of the resort Lacy and I seen a Fox lying by the side of the road, I thought it was hurt, After a while I noticed a lady looking down the hill near the fox. I walked back to see what she was looking at and to my amazement I seen five little fox playing and running about, they looked up at us and kept on playing. The fox lying by the road and got up and walked away, It was not hurt and I was so surprised it came so close and did not seen afraid, it just looked at us and walked away.This mad me think of the books of Anastasia by Vladimir Meger. A end to a awesome day.

If you are in Hot Springs Arkansas or live in the area you must go to the QUAPAW BATHS & SPA it's the only coed bath house there and it is wonderful. It's clean and the dressing area are very private. I felt great when I left.

I went the 42nd Annual Chicago RV & Camping Show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.We had a nice time.Today was the first day for the show so we were able to get in and out very fast. I will be glad when we can pull the RV out again and go camping.
