Heading North

As much as we enjoyed San Antonio it was time to move on, We were up early and on the road by 7AM. Our next stop was at a very nice campground in Beaumont TX. Lacy enjoyed the free coffee and the fishing. With all the storms the next morning we push in on to Mississippi. So far the trip has been very good. Life is what you make it.

Going thru Louisiana was amazing.

On the Road

We  wanted to stay in Fort Stockton a little longer but the wind got so bad we thought the RV was going to blow over that night and we got very little sleep, and a storm was coming the next day, so we decided  to hit the road and deal with the wind. We got up early and headed out the wind was high but not bad, after about two hours we heard a noise Lacy pulled over and the awning had come out. Good old duct tape save the day again.

The rest of the trip was good and we were in our campsite
and set up by 2 PM.
Our adventure continue.

A Day to Remember

Our day in Sedona was amazing the red rocks are beautiful .We have been staying around the campsite trying to adjust to the time change, today was a very windy day but Lacy wanted to get the oil changed so we went to Cottonwood and was told if we printed out the coupon online we would save $6.00 (we will wait), Lacy said we are so close to Jerome let’s just go there, when we got almost to the town the car ran hot. The cap on the fluid was loose again after it cooled off and we added some water we went back down the mountain and will go back after we get the car checked out.

Almost there

Waiting for car to cool

It was very windy

Taking some photos

Town in the mountain (Jerome AZ.)

Lacy wanted to stop at Fry’s to see if they had any organic vegetables. I was walking and seen a lady I thought I know and then I seen two men and the one looked so familiar the other man ask why are you looking at  him ? do he look funny to you and he laughed . I said no, he looks familiar, I ask  him, are you an Rver he said yes, is your wife’s name Peggy he said yes, This was amazing we met them about 4 years ago in Branson Mo. And ran into them in Cottonwood AZ.  We went to there campsite and had fun catching up. We were so happy to see them and we also met another nice couple.

Hanging out with friends

With our new and old friends

Our lemon day turned into lemonade. If the car had not ran hot we would have not ran into each other.

Our Journey Continue, Heading South

We had a great time in Williams AZ. But it was time to head south. This was Lacy’s first time driving the RV in some real mountains and I must say he did very good. We are in a very nice campground. There are some trees shading the coach, It’s been in the 90, but it’s a breeze most of the time and we have not had to run the air. We are about 20 min. from Sedona AZ. The weather has been great. We are going to stay here for a while. Before heading to Mesa Az. Life is good it’s what you make it.

The Adventure Continue

In Colorado Springs we met a very nice couple in the campground, And if you know Lacy you know he is always asking questions, he wanted to know why the man had clamps on his coach. He told him that  they were for the awing,  when you leave here there is a part of road that is  very very windy. When it was time for us to leave, We headed south on 25 and the wind picked up then I heard a thump and looked out the window I could see the shadow of the awing blowing I told Lacy pull over quick , and thank God he did. It was so windy it was hard opening the door to get out the coach, the wind had caught the awing and it had started to come a apart. Lacy got the ladder  out and was able to add more bungie cords on it , I told him it still look like the wind was getting under and it needed more support. I had seen a video on You Tube and the man said you should always have duck tape  with you in a RV,  and it came in handy we added duck tape to help hold it down, we made it to our  next stop safely, The next morning Lacy let the awing down and thank God it was not broken. Lacy said he will be buying some clamps for the awing. After a good night rest we are on to our next stop.

Leaving Colorado Springs

You can see snow on top of the mountains

A long way to go in the wind, It kill your mileage.

That could be Lacy and I

On the side of the road hoping no snakes were in the grass.

Lacy hooked us up.

Lots of duck tape.

Made to the state line.

We made it to a campground in Albuquerque New Mexico

Lacy redoing the awing.

Our Journey Continues West

The campground was very nice but Lacy could not take 2 days without TV and phone, The lady at the campground told him a shorter way to the interstate and only 7 miles on a dirt road but it was flat with only one hill. So off we went. We didn’t see a house anywere, only a windmill , a very old building and some cows, the road was very narrow, Lacy said he should have known something was wrong when it said Hideaway. It was a great day for a ride, When we got a little on the other side of Denver the RV started getting hot so we had to pull over until it cooled off, We made to the campground with no other problems, The next day we went to Manitou Springs to take the train up to Pikes Peak. When we parked the car there was fluid on the ground and Lacy thought the car was running hot, he said by the time we get back it would be cool, So off we went to Pikes Peak the views were amazing but when we got to the top it was so cold we had to get some hot coffee to warm us up. About 4 hours later. Lacy checked the car and everything seemed find, another day was over and another adventure.

On the Road

We decided time to get on the road today, Lacy picked a campground a 100 miles down the road. There was a overcast good driving weather, we stopped at the store to get more food. the ride was good and uneventful. The campground was 20 mile off the highway but Lacy wanted to go there because he said it sounded good.
This is the road going to the campground.

We were hoping that was the campground at the top of the hill, but it wasn't

The road turned to a DIRT road .

And Hilly.

It turned out to be a very nice and clean campground  and everyone was very nice.

The only problem is we can not get a phone or TV signal

We got to pick gifts from the campground garden.  Until next time.
